Grovu is built on a fundamental principle: **Your plants, photos, and journal notes are yours alone.** We do not run cloud user databases, we do not require account creation, and we do not sell or monetize your data.
1. Data Storage on Your Device
All information you enter into Grovu—including plant names, botanical taxonomy, care schedules, completed logs, height and leaf counts, and uploaded photos—is stored strictly on your local device storage.
If you have Apple iCloud Backup enabled on your iOS device, your Grovu data is backed up to your personal, encrypted iCloud account. Meticha has no access to your iCloud backup.
2. No Account Required
You can use Grovu immediately upon installation without providing an email address, phone number, name, or password. We do not maintain user profile databases or advertising profiles.
3. Photos and Camera Access
Grovu requests iOS Camera and Photo Library permissions solely so you can capture and attach growth photos to your plant journal. Photos are never uploaded to Meticha servers or third-party computer vision cloud APIs.
4. Apple In-App Purchases & Subscriptions
Payments for Grovu Premium (Annual, Monthly, or Lifetime) are processed securely through Apple's App Store In-App Purchase system. Meticha does not receive or store your credit card details or billing address. All billing is managed under your Apple ID.
5. Standard JSON Data Export
You maintain full ownership of your journal. At any point, you can export your entire plant catalog and care history as a standardized JSON file to save to your Mac, PC, or external backup drive.
